Vertical construction is now underway at Excel Miami, which will have 427 apartments. Shawmut Design and Construction, a  $2 billion national construction management firm, said on December 10 that it had broken ground on the development. A groundbreaking ceremony was held December 9. A judge has ordered the City of Miami Beach to reinstate two-way car traffic on Ocean Drive, according to the Herald.
